Night Expeditions - Madeira Wind Birds

The objective of this program is to hear the night calls of three seabirds species: the rare Zino's Petrel (Pterodroma madeira), the Cory's Shearwater (Calonectris diomedea borealis) and the Manx Shearwater (Puffinus puffinus puffinus), considering the accessibility to places near their colonies, the number of birds in each colony and, above all, their spectacular calls.

Though this tours are drawn for these species, sometimes it will be possible to see the Barn Owl (Tyto alba shmitzi), the only nocturnal bird of prey that breads in Madeira and that is an endemic subspecies.
