On a scientific partnership with prestigious universities of Spain, France, Brazil, Germany, Macao and Portugal, the Regional Board of Tourism and Culture is organising the Gardens of the World International Congress, on Madeira between the 9th and 12th of May 2007.

As part of the International Congress on Gardens of the World, well-known figures of University research and written works published and acclaimed in the whole world shall be passing through Madeira, presenting the different thematic areas that blend in with the topic of this Congress.

For the twentieth consecutive year the Madeira Classic Car Club is organizing, from the 27th to the 30th of June 2007, the XX Around Madeira Classic Rally. This rally is part of FIA’s calendar for historic regularity and of the international calendar of FIVA, category A. This way all vehicles entering the competition must be in perfect conditions of conservation and originality.

As a result of the quality presented throughout the past editions, the XX Volta à Madeira Classic Rally occurs over a period of 4 days and competition is driven under the motto “body.mind.Madeira”.

On this 400 km length rally, each competitor will be able to experience harmony between sport and nature in a rally which intends to be competitive but also characterized by an important and warm social component. These are the ‘values’ this event has to offer and if you are a classic cars lover you will certainly do not want to miss it!

It was already confirmed the artists for Funchal Jazz but one of the artists has canceled her world tourney due to personal reasons. This way Funchal Jazz can not count anymore with the performance of Rosa Passos for 2007 edition though the organization has already confirmed the presence of Ithamara Koorax, a Brazilian artist who "Down Beat" has classified once as one of the four best Jazz singers in the world.

The rest of the program remains and this 8th Funchal Jazz promises to be a success in Quinta Magnolia Gardens:

Every year, for 48 year already, on the last days of December many athletes run through the city of Funchal in the evening.

Last year, 2005, the number of participants has reached a new record of more than a thousand persons divided on two different competitions. First there is a Health March where people from 2 to 100 years old walk on Avenida do Mar celebrating health. The second competition is the most serious one where professional and amateur athletes run about 6 km around Funchal downtown.
