The 3rd edition of Funchal International Film Festival, FIFF-Madeira, will be held at Baltazar Dias Municipal Theatre, from the 2nd to the 10th of November 2007. The aim of this Film Festival is to promote quality cinematography still unknown to the people of Madeira and its visitants.

This festival welcomes the participation of feature films, in the 35mm format, produced between 2005 and 2007, which shall compete for the “Caravela de Prata” (FIFF Silver Caravel) award.

Madeira Wine festivities and the IV European Folklore Week are finished until next year. During a long weekend, from Friday to Sunday several activities took place in three main places: Funchal downtown, Estreito de Câmara de Lobos and Porto da Cruz. From grape harvesting to foot pressing and wine tasting, together with folklore shows from several countries and hadcrafts live exhibition, Madeira Wine festival has amused several visitants and locals. Now is time to start to prepare next years Madeira wine harvesting festivities, so if you missed this time, do not lose the chance for 2008

June is the month of Madeira Atlantic Festival known by its Music Festival and its Fireworks International Contest.

The Music Festival is a well established cultural event presenting a diverse artistic programme with groups that range from the orchestra, choral, folk groups and ballet.

As for the Fireworks contest, on this 6th edition of the Atlantic Festival of Madeira the three contestants, Canada, Russia and Thailand are here for the first and will present their pyrotechnic spectacle with music, lighting and fireworks, on the following order with the respective themes:

• June 9th at 10,30pm Canada presents “Pyrorecnical voices”
• June 16th at 10,30pm Russia presents “Through time to stars”
• June 23rd at 10,30pm Thailand presents“Thailand musical fireworks”
• June 30th at 10,30pm Portugal presents “Emotions”
