Madeira Islands will have its cow exhibiting on the Cow Parade Lisbon 2006. During May many cows will be spread around the streets, parks and public spaces of Portugal’s Capital.

Madeira cow was painted by the artist and art teacher Marco Fagundes Vasconcelos, the winner of the contest organized by Mdeira Shopping, to “dress the cow” under the theme Madeira – an island of dreams.

The painter has expressed Madeira traditions while dressing the cow. Madeira cow is dressing the traditional Madeira folklore skirt, vest and leather boots. The shirt is Madeira embroidery (though when the photo was taken it was not there yet) and it will wear a necklace with a Madeira Wine bottle. On its head it wears the most common flowers and fruits that grow in Madeira.
