Horários do Funchal (Funchal City bus operator) has tickets and passes for locals, temporary workers and tourists.

Local and temporary workers, can buy all ticket and passes: two-way tickets (zone 1,2 and 3), monthly passes (zone 1,2 and 3) and one week all zones pass.

Tourist can only buy: two-way tickets (zone 1,2 and 3) and one week all zones pass. The reason for not having access to monthly passes is that by law and due to a government subsidy, you need to have a Portuguese taxation number.
